SPAN Director of Membership

Safe Passage Across Networks (SPAN) is looking for a volunteer to join our dynamic Management Team. SPAN has a membership structure set up for Individuals, Small Businesses, Schools and Organizations. We are now looking for an enthusiastic and skillful individual to actively pursue and manage an increase in SPAN memberships. This volunteer position will require a commitment of at least 15-20 hours per month for a minimum duration of two years. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Lead SPAN’s overall efforts to recruit, retain, and engage membership

• Strategically plan initiatives about increasing memberships

• Collaborate with the CEO and Management Team to:

  • Develop a roadmap for sustainable membership growth

  • Establish short and long-term goals to achieve membership objectives

  • Outline a data-driven member engagement, retention, and recruitment strategy and implementation plan

  • Strengthen strategies to increase member engagement and membership renewal

• Organize and present membership data, tracking and reporting, including but not limited to accurate membership records of current, new and prospective member information, and member experience throughout join and renewal processes

• Attend meetings with the CEO and Management Team twice a month (during the northern hemisphere school calendar year)

• Attend and assist with preparation and management of the annual (virtual) SPAN Symposium in October

 

Qualifications:

The qualifications below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and experience required or preferred. This volunteer position requires the ability to effectively contribute to positive working relationships within a multi-cultural context with a team across various time zones.
 

• Proficient in English

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Demonstrated experience of at least two years in growing membership and strengthening
  membership retention

• Excellent knowledge of building and maintaining memberships and community

• Current connections within the international school community

• Strong interest in transitions-care and attachment security

• Proficient online and offline communication skills

• In-depth knowledge of Google Suite of applications

• Working knowledge of Slack to communicate with other team members 

• Skills in website software building/management to update SPAN's website for 'Membership' 

• Administrative skills to create and follow up with membership databases

• Accounting skills to track membership payments

 

All candidates are required to be or to become a SPAN Member in order to apply for and hold this position. 

 

As part of the Management Team, the volunteer will benefit from various opportunities within SPAN (in Training & Consulting and a complimentary Symposium registration) to further their own professional development in the field of transitions-care. They will also be able to grow their network, and interact with leading experts in the field.
